As I write now, I find that time has been moving rather quickly for me, since Monday 19th May marks the halfway point of my second installment in Cameroon before I return for good on June 20th. When I asked for a little direction in life, some inspiration, hope for the future, I never meant this. I can't believe she's dead. She was just 19, barely starting life, in her prime. She was a beautiful girl, a fun friend, a firey person. I just wish that I could have seen her one more day. What hurts the most is that her sister wrote that she kept saying it, "It hurts, it hurts." It seems so unfair that such a lovely girl should die such a painful and cruel death. Everything seems a bit brighter and more hopeful in the light of day. So what if it is pouring rain and there really isn't much 'light' out there today. I am feeling lighter of mind (I wish it was of body also!) today now that I look at the work situation. It is the sport that I love and somehow I will get past the pettiness and survive. I always do. It seems the more I step up and try to confront issues the more it backfires on me. Maybe the "human doormat" thing just works for me and I should read more »
