It had been a long, slow drive down south. It rained the whole way, belting down on the glass sunroof above our head as well as the windscreen making visibility very low. Dryden was an English poet, dramatist, and critic. He first came to public notice in 1659 with his Heroic Stanzas, commemorating the death of Oliver Cromwell.
